AN EAST Lancashire manufacturing company is celebrating after winning a Queen's award for the third time.

BMP, which provides speclialist engineered textiles for use in a diverse range of industrial applications from its base in Shorten Brook Drive, on the Altham Business Park, was selected for the prestigious prize this year for its international trade success.

The factory, which employs 125 people, deals with sales of around £21million every year, around 90 per cent of which is exported.

BMP also has sites in New York, Singapore, China and Mexico.

Steve Moon, sales and marketing director for BMP, said the whole company was thrilled to receive recognition once again.

He said: "This award really is only given for outstanding and exceptional performance.

"Certainly everybody throughout the company, from the management to everybody on the shop floor, is delighted and very proud.

"It also helps us raise our profile both in the UK and throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

"It is a very prestigious award and we ensure that the emblem goes on all our paperwork.

"We are honoured to have won."
