AN EAST Lancashire factory worker has had an Eddie Stobart lorry named after her.
Workers at Altham-based Simon Jersey were given the chance to have one of the trucks named in their honour to celebrate the firm’s 40th anniversary.
Gwyneth Joy Craig, 41, from Great Harwood, said she was overjoyed as the lorry arrived at her workplace, revealing she had won after entering a company design competition.
She said: “As the truck pulled into our car park, no one had any idea whose name it was going to be.
“I was flabbergasted as it came closer and I realised it was my name up there.
“My father was a truck driver, so he was the first person I told and he was thrilled for me.
“I’m not a quiet person, so I will continue bragging about it – if I ever see it driving past me in the car I think that’ll be quite a shock too!”
Simon Jersey, which makes corporate clothing, includes Eddie Stobart as a customer.
Neale Burdon, from Eddie Stobart, said: “We have a great relationship with Simon Jersey, and reaching your 40th year, as we did last year, is a tremendous achievement.
"We felt we could help them mark it with something a little out of the ordinary.”
