A MAN and a woman were seen stealing coping stones of garden walls in Accrington at 4.10am.
Blackburn magistrates heard a witness was able to take the registration number of the Peugeot 306 the stones were being loaded into and when police went to the address of the registered keeper they found the car.

Helen Georgina Dodgeon, 40, of St Leonard’s Street, Padiham, pleaded guilty to three charges of stealing stones on March 28.
She was jailed for four weeks with a further two weeks for being in breach of a suspended prison sentence order. She was also ordered to pay £200 compensation to each victim, £80 victim surcharge and £80 costs.
Eddie Harrison, prosecuting, said the witness had looked out of a bedroom window and saw two people taking stones and loading them into a car.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client’s benefits had been stopped: “She was offered the opportunity to make some cash and was assisting the other person in the removal of these stones.”
