A 25-year-old man has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged in connection with what was described in court as a ‘sustained and horrific’ attack on a motorist after he had been run off the road.

The court heard the victim suffered a stab wound and numerous other injuries after being dragged from his car by three men and beaten in Blackburn Road, Accrington, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Zahid Hussain, of Richmond Road, Accrington, was sent in custody to Burnley Crown Court charged with wounding Iblal Ali Iqbal with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm and possessing a knife in a public place.
The court heard that the alleged incident was filmed from a nearby bedroom window on a mobile phone.
