A 25-YEAR-OLD woman who was allowed to share a taxi with two other women ended up dragging one of them out of the car by her hair.

Blackburn magistrates heard Claire Waldron, who has a “significant record” for offences of violence, had been drinking heavily before the unprovoked attack.

Waldron, of Spencer Street, Accrington, admitted assaulting Pepsi Holland. She was fined £20 and ordered to pay £50 compensation and £210 costs.

She was also made subject to community supervision for nine months.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Miss Holland and a friend had been out in Accrington town centre. She knew Waldron by sight and when Waldron asked if she could share their taxi she agreed.

“An argument started,” said Miss Allan. “When the taxi stopped, Waldron got out, went to Miss Holland’s side and dragged her out by her hair.”
