STARDOM beckons for singing starlet Hollie Steel after she made it through to the semi finals of Britain’s Got Talent.

Oakhill College pupil Hollie, 10, who grew up off Pendle Way, Burnley, before moving to Huncoat with her family, was given the thumbs up by the show’s judges on Saturday night.

The East Lancashire youngster was one of 40 contestants to make it through to the next round of heats.

There were 200 acts for the judges to choose from and Hollie admitted that the pressure was starting to be felt.

Before it was announced she said: "I am feeling really nervous about today."

But those nerves were dispelled when Piers Morgan, who sits alongside Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden on the judging panel, told her she was going through.

And mum Nina, 37, said they were hopeful she’d get through her semi-final on Friday.

She said: “We have just got to hope she gets through and does well. She desperately wants to get into the final.

“The song she is going to sing is so beautiful it will melt people’s hearts. We just can’t say what it is at the moment.

“Hopefully the people of East Lancashire will get behind their little star.”

She must now battle against a host of talented and sometimes bizarre contestants if she is to achieve glory.

In her semi final she will go up against talented dancer Aidan Davis and soprano Greg Pritchard.

If she gets past them she could face other stars such as Susan Boyle, 12-year-old singer Callum Francis, Devon escapologist Merlin, chubby burlesque dancer Fabia Cerra and street dancers Flawless.
