THE mum of Britain’s Got Talent singing star Hollie Steel is urging the whole of East Lancashire to get behind her daughter.

Hollie will find out whether she is through to the semi-finals on Saturday.

Little Hollie, 10, has been hailed as one of the ITV1 show’s stars after her stunning performance of “I Could Have Danced All Night” took her through the first stage of auditions.

Since then, she has been at the centre of a whirlwind of publicity, appearing on US TV and throughout the national media.

The Oakhill College pupil, who grew up off Pendle Way, Burnley, before moving to Huncoat, is in line to be picked to go through to the live shows and compete as one of 40 semi-finalists one night next week.

Mum Nina said: “If she does get through, I want the whole of East Lancashire to get behind Hollie.

"She’s having a great time and everyone has seen how talented she is. I’m so proud if her.

“But even if she doesn’t make it into the semi-finals, it has been a fantastic experience, particularly meeting Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan.”

In her weekly blog for the Lancashire Telegraph’s web- site, Hollie said the wait to find out her fate was “like waiting for Christmas”, and that she was desperately hoping she wouldn’t be needed in the studios on the day Burnley FC fight for Premier League status.

Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who has become world famous, is still odds-on favourite to win the competition, but Hollie is in the top 10, according to bookies.

Ladbrokes lists her odds to win as 8/1, while PaddyPower and William Hill are offering 12/1.

But Hollie is still behind other favourites Aidan Davis, listed at 10/3, and Jamie Pugh, at 7/1.
