A 44-YEAR-OLD man who held a knife to his partner’s throat and threatened to slit it has been jailed for 20 weeks.
Blackburn magistrates heard Martin Saynor was convicted after a trial but refused to accept his guilt and was adamant he would not co-operate with supervision.
“He’s not happy to go to prison but he is prepared to accept that is the inevitable outcome,” said Jonathan Taylor, defending. Saynor, of Charles Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to assaulting Corina Jones.
As well as the prison sentence, he was made subject to a restraining order for two years which prevents him from having any contact with Miss Jones or going within 200 metres of her home on Manchester Road, Accrington.
