MORE than 100 research specialists and university representatives are being invited to see the work carried out by Calderstones Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

A major showcase event takes place on November 16 at Clayton Park Conference Centre, Accrington.

Delegates will hear keynote speeches and presentations on the trust’s cutting edge research into the care and treatment of people with a learning disability.

Organiser Paula Johnson, from the Whalley-based trust based, said: “We are very proud of the progress we have made in recent years and of the strong links and partnership working we have developed with universities and our growing reputation for hosting student projects.

“We are especially pleased that our projects are now starting to attract external funding via the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

“This is a major accolade that demonstrates the importance and quality of the work we are doing especially as there is strong competition for funding nationally.”

She added: “Our research is mainly qualitative and drives clinical practice because it is linked to Trust needs and also national initiatives.”
