NEW plans to turn a house into a takeaway have been lodged.
Applicant Syed Bukhari has submitted a planning application to Hyndburn council for a change of use of the ground floor of the property in Union Road, Oswaldtwistle, to a hot food takeaway.
Under the plans, a flat would also be located above the new shop.
The property has been used in the past as a shop until the 1990s.
It is currently a vacant property which was altered from a shop and is situated on Tinker Brow within a row of shops with a pub at the lower end and a restaurant next door.
If the development was given the go-ahead by planners, car parking is provided for the public on a car adjacent to the property and on the streets at the back of it.
The plans for the takeaway and flat will be considered at a future meeting of Hyndburn council's planning committee.
