A POWER firm has welcomed a county council report which has deemed a series of wind turbines - in Rossendale and Todmorden - as visually acceptable.
Bosses at Coronation Power want to install three 125-metre high windmills at Reaps Moss, Rossendale.
And another five, measuring the same height, will be put up overlooking Todmorden Moor, in the Calderdale area, if planning permission is given.
Experts from Lancashire County Council have been called in to assess the landscaping and visual amenity values of both projects even though they are on opposing sides of the Lancashire-Yorkshire border.
Danielle Milne, Coronation Power spokesman, said: "Both of these wind farms are exceptional schemes which meet stringent sustainable development requirements and rigorous impact laws."
