A HEADTEACHER spoke of a sense of privilege at leading his school to success at its annual awards night.

Head of St Bede’s High School, Blackburn, Des Callaghan, praised his pupils for their outstanding achieve-ments. He said that 80 per cent of pupils gained five A*-Cs and 61 per cent gained five A*-C including English and Maths.

Mr Callaghan said the results were the best set of results in the school’s history at the ceremony on Thursday evening.

He thanked the teachers for their incredible hard work, commitment and talent.

He also thanked parents for supporting their children and their trust in the school.
