East Lancashire singer Redd big in Germany
12:00pm Tuesday 22nd November 2011 in North Turton By Jessica Bell
AN East Lancashire singer is on the verge of stardom after recording a hit single with global superstars Akon and Snoop Dogg.
Amy Louise Aldred — stage name Redd — may not have made it through bootcamp in last year’s X Factor, but the 22-year-old’s dreams are still coming true.
Her track, Redd featuring R&B/rapper kings Akon and Snoop Dogg — I’m A Day Dreaming, was released for download in Germany over the weekend and has gone straight into the charts.
It is currently number two in the Hip Hop chart and number 26 in the main chart, and the video got nearly half-a-million hits in the first 72 hours after it was uploaded on YouTube.
Amy, from Edgworth, said the past few weeks had been “crazy” and her family have even put up their Christmas decorations early to celebrate her success!
“I think my mum and dad are more hyped up than me! They are putting up the Christmas decorations because we are all so excited,” she said.
Since appearing on last year’s X Factor, the former University of Bolton student has made singing her career.
She performs regularly around the North West and recently sang at Blackpool’s Christmas lights switch-on.
“Everything went really quiet for about two months and then this happened, it’s so crazy,” said Amy.
“I am really happy but the hard work doesn’t stop here.
“This is a platform now where I can start really pushing and excelling as an artist and trying to get the name Redd known worldwide.
“I’m so hungry for it. It’s all I want to do.”
Amy was approached by a Los Angeles record label to record vocals for the track, which was released by German label Kontour.
She has not yet met Snoop Dogg or Akon and said she is excited at the prospect of performing live with them.
Amy is also taking part in Open Mic UK and has reached the semi-finals of the competition, which gives the winner a record contract.

Telegraph you cannot have it both ways, you are either serious when you launch your intel led scripts as to how terrible our children are, or just another confusing operation when you then big up a degenerate, and an up and coming one...

George Khan says...
I’ll be ever ready to do the boogie-
Or sing a love long that will strike a chord
You’re wasting your time, doing backing vocals for Snoop Doggy Doggy
He’s blody ugly and is a bad role model
I got my own business, a masala fusion chippy
I swivel my hips as I shake the vinegar bottle
And blare out songs like Humperdinck or Tom Jones
You can hear me all the way in Oswaldtwistle
And I unblock lots of waxed up earholes
I’ve humbled the likes of Kishore Kumar and Pavarotti
They don’t have powerful vocal chords
My throat is enriched by eating lots of Khyber Ghee
That helps me reach the highest of notes
So Reddy, duet with me and you’ll be bigger than Lady Gaga
Snoop Doggy dog will beg to do backing vocals for you
But when you’ve sung with George, you won’t need a gangster
My fees are 50% of all future earnings, that’s my due!

thats why you create such controversy.
You only hate to make people feel bad, when really its you that is truly sad.
@lifeinthemix??? not so diverse,
there is a real world round your universe!!
To make an assumption on Degeneration, I really have to question if you've had an Education??
You will never hit the top bar,
cause small minded people don't go far....
Your life is so lame that you criticise,
when really its you wanting stars in your eyes.
Now take a step back and lets be real,
you know they... HAVE ALL THE APPEAL.
I could go on forever but I will leave it there, ''life-in-the-MIX??'
' or ''life-in-the-STIR??
''
