SNOW DRAMA: Mountain Rescue workers with the injured boy at the scene of the accident on the snow-covered slopes above Wayoh Reservoir
A BOY was injured when his sledge ploughed into a fence.
The 12-year-old, from Edgworth, was sledging near Wayoh Reservoir on Tuesday, when he crashed.
He suffered injuries to his pelvis and femur, Bolton Mountain Rescue said.
It took rescuers around an hour and a half to tend to the boy, placing him on a stretcher and giving him painkillers.
He was airlifted to the Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment.
The incident was the rescue team’s third call to a sledging incident in a matter of days.
