THE Royal Mail has been praised Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson for beating its national targets for delivering letters to homes and businesses in the BB postcode area.
The postcode covers Accrington, Barnoldswick, Blackburn, Burnley, Clitheroe, Colne, Darwen, Nelson and Rossendale in England.
Royal Mail delivered its target-beating performance in the BB postcode area in the first quarter of 2017/18.
It has revealed 93.9 per cent of First Class Mail was delivered on time in the BB area and 93.3 per cent nationally, against a national target of 93 per cent.
Second Class targets were also beaten with 98.7 per cent of mail delivered within three working days against a 98.5 per cent target.
Mr Stephenson said: “The Royal Mail continues to deliver a great service and have a record of performing better across Pendle and East Lancashire than the national average which is down to the hardworking local team.”
“We all rely on the Royal Mail to deliver a high level of service and should not take it for granted. These excellent results will remind people of the fantastic work done by our posties.”
