A COUNCILLOR has called for ‘faster action’ from Network Rail in tackling dozens of roosting pigeons under a railway bridge.
Blackburn with Darwen Council’s environment team gave Exchange Street a deep clean last week but Cllr Roy Davies has said the road is already covered in droppings again.
Network Rail said it was considering putting up nets under the bridge to stop birds going in there.
Cllr Davies said: “I would urge Network Rail to act fast on this because it is an awful state.
“The sooner we get rid of the birds the better.”
A Network Rail spokesman said: "Network Rail is aware of the issue of roosting pigeons under the rail bridge at Exchange Street and is in conversation with the local council to find a solution. We take the issue of roosting birds very seriously.”
