A WOMAN in her early 20s was taken to hospital after two cars collided in Darwen.
The incident took place at 8.30am this morning when a silver Volkswagen Polo collided with another vehicle on the A666 at the Duckworth Street junction.
A police spokesman said: "A woman, believed to be in her early 20s was seen in the front of the car.
"Paramedics and the fire service have been called out to the scene.
"The road will remain closed for the time being and motorists have been advised to avoid the area."
Fire crews from Blackburn and Darwen and paramedics were also called to the crash.
An ambulance service spokesman said that the woman was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with minor injuries.
