Jack Shackleton, 20, of Ridgeway Avenue, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting Kieran Adair causing him actual bodily harm. He was ordered to pay £750 compensation to his victim, do 150 hours unpaid work and made subject to a curfew between 11 pm and 4 am for 12 weeks, by Blackburn magistrates.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said a police officer outside the Level 1 club at 5.10am saw Shackleton hit another male in the face causing him to fall to the floor.

The officer chased Shackleton and when he turned and said 'come on then' aimed his Tasar at him.

"When he saw the red dot he became compliant," said Miss Allan.

She said the victim did not come forward until a day later. He said he was outside the club when he suddenly felt a blow to his face and realised a tooth had been knocked out.

Shackleton, who was not represented, said he had been drinking and had little recollection of the incident.

"I know I shouldn't have done it," said Shackleton.
