A ‘TERRIFYING’ pub will be raising its spirits by holding its scariest Hallowe’en party yet.

The Anchor, in Blackburn Road, Darwen, is holding its third annual party and has pulled out the stops this year to make sure people will by ‘dying’ to get in.

The pub has spent a year planning and sourcing materials to undergo a complete transformation, featuring a graveyard garden complete with tombstones.

The bar has become a vampire’s lair, with two corpses, a coffin and other spine-chilling decorations.

Lance Montgomery, the pub’s landlord, said he can’t wait for the fun to begin.

He said: “We’ve been at the pub for three years now and we’ve always had a Hallowe’en party.

“Myself and my wife, Melissa, have always tried to better ourselves each year and we believe this will be the best ever.

“We’ve spent months planning it all, we didn’t want to rush anything and we wanted it all to be perfect.

“We’ve had a couple of remarks off passers-by saying the bodies in the window look real, which is a big plus for us.

“The regulars are quite used to the crazy things that happen in this pub now at this time of year.”

The event will start tonight at the pub from 8pm and then continue on Saturday from 7.30pm until late.
