DARWEN residents and their Labour ward councillors have objected formally to plans to bring forward the development of two sites on Pole Lane in Marsh House for development by a decade.

John Roberts and Tom Evans consulted householders in the area over the borough council’s scheme to allow applications to build up to 264 homes in the area to be brought forward now rather than “after 2026”.

It said: “We have consulted with local residents and we share their fears that the proposal runs the real risk of over development during the next five years in the Pole Lane area of the borough.”

Cllr Roberts said: “This would put enormous pressures on local services.”
