A CHARITY is preparing for a new project based at Darwen Library Theatre ahead of Refugee Week.
Action Factory, which promotes participatory arts in community and education settings across the North West, took over Darwen Youth Theatre in September 2014. The group, which meets every Monday during term time, is seeking new members ahead of the Refugee Week event on June 15.
A spokesman said: “In September, we began with ten juniors (six-to-11-years-old) and three seniors (12-18-years-old). Now we regularly have 20 juniors and thirteen seniors each week and new members are still welcome to join.
“Our next project will be for Refugee Week on June 15. Darwen Youth Theatre will be reworking the Paddington story with a new twist; we will also be inviting other youth groups to perform at a showcase in the Darwen Library Theatre.”
