CANCER battler Sam Shaw’s has been feeling the effects as his immune system hit an all-time low.
The four-year-old Hoddlesden neuroblastoma patient underwent a stem cell transplant last week in his fight against the disease.
Mum Christine said: “Sam has deteriorated a lot and become very sick.
“The mucusitis has spread through the whole of his body and he is in constant pain. The nurses have hooked him up to a morphine drip to make him more comfortable, however he has also spiked a fever which is a sign of infection so he has started a course of strong antibiotics.
“But the doctors are very happy with him. Sam is responding excellently to the treatment and as such all these symptoms are ultimately inevitable.”
