ARTIST collective Owl Project has created a new installation at Turton Tower.

K-Scope will launch at an event on Saturday and will be open to tower visitors throughout the year.

The work was commissioned by the Mid Pennine Arts Contemporary Heritage programme and Owl Project has invited people to enter an imaginary space where fact and fiction combine, drawing attention to Turton Tower’s rich industrial heritage and an age of wonder, when people were excited by what machines could achieve.

They have created two elements that link the tower and its gardens, inside a wooden analogue computer that weaves light and listening horns exhibited in the gardens.

Owl Project is a collaborative group of artists consisting of Simon Blackmore, Antony Hall and Steve Symons. The Contemporary Heritage project at Turton Tower is supported by Arts Council England and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

There will be an opportunity to meet the artists and view the work on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm.
