A COUPLE who had argued while out drinking ended up in a "tug-of-war" as he tried to get her out of his father's house.
Blackburn magistrates heard police were called by the father who was worried what might happen.
The victim refused to make a complaint despite having been hit with a cushion and dragged off the settee by her ankles.
Robert Michael Wallace, 28, of Grange Street, Burnley, pleaded guilty to assaulting Laura Gaskill. He was fined £50 with £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
Alex Mann, prosecuting, said both parties were drunk and there was a row.
"He wanted her to leave the house and was trying to drag her out," she said.
Mark Williams, defending, said the father said they were having a tug-of-war and she was giving as good as she got.
"He had gone home leaving her at a party but she turned up, clearly the worse for wear," said Mr Williams. "Both he and his father wanted her to go but she wouldn't."
