A LONGRIDGE man who broke into the gated and walled grounds of a detached house found it more difficult to get out.
Blackburn magistrates heard Jamie David Reid set of security alarms and the owner was quickly out of his house and managed to lock the intruder inside the car he was in the process of searching.
Reid, 34, of Bleasdale Court, pleaded guilty to interfering with an Audi A4.
He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £100 costs.
Gareth Price, defending, said his client could not explain why he had committed the offence. “He had been making his way home from a friend’s house and saw a gap in the fence.”
