A moped rider is in a critical condition in hospital after a road accident in Charnock Richard last night.
At 7.30pm police were called to a collision on Park Hall Road.
A Peugeot 406 and a moped had collided and the rider of the moped, a 36-year-old Eccleston man, suffered serious injuries, including two fractured legs, a fractured pelvis, and a fractured shoulder.
He is in a critical but stable condition at Royal Preston Hospital.
The road was closed at the junction of Stocks Lane and the junction of Mill Lane. It re-opened just after 10.30pm.
The driver of the car, a 49-year-old man of no fixed address, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anybody with any information should contact police on 08451 25 35 45.
