Children at a Brinscall school have got new playmates to keep them entertained and teach them about recycling.
The Roly Pigs now reside at Brinscall St John’s CE Methodist school on Harbour Lane.
The bright green pigs, bought with a Waste Action Grant from Lancashire County Council, store the school’s food waste, which is then converted to compost.
School administrator Carole Lormer, said: “The children have been feeding and turning them every day using leftover fruit.
“It will be used as compost on our grounds and by our gardening club.”
Grants of up to £500 are available for similar projects .
