A man had to be rescued from a flat fire in Euxton..
Fourteen firefighters tackled the blaze in the third floor flat in Regency Gardens on Friday, August 8, at 10.29pm.
The 65-year-old man was treated by paramedics at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Ian Turnbull, watch manager at Chorley said: “The man had fallen asleep with food in his oven and neighbours from the flat below alerted us when they heard the smoke alarm.
“This incident could have been a lot worse had it not been for the smoke alarm.”
