A CONMAN talked his way into the house of a 90-year-old man and stole hundreds of pounds in cash.

Police have issued a witness appeal and warned residents to be on the alert following the burglary on Beaconsfield Terrace, Chorley.

A man asked the victim if he could use his toilet and once inside the house stole around £410.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins and of stocky build. He had short light brown hair and was wearing a blue polo shirt and smart trousers.

Police believe he drove away from the scene towards Harpers Lane in a small blue car with rails on the roof.

Any witnesses to the burglary, which happened at 6.15pm on Tuesday, September 8, are asked to call Lancashire Police on 101, quoting log reference LC-20150908-0366.
