Accrington and Rossendale College celebrates at Apprenticeship Awards
Apprentices, employers and parents celebrated the outstanding achievements of Accrington and Rossendale College’s Apprentices at a glittering awards ceremony held at the stunning Roots Restaurant on the College’s leafy campus.
A much-anticipated annual event, Apprentices were presented with accolades for their achievements and success throughout the past year.
Hosted by Deputy Head of Apprenticeships Tracy Landon, the evening was a perfect opportunity to commend each Apprentice for their achievements and enjoy delicious fine dining and drinks in the relaxing setting of Accrington and Rossendale College’s Roots Restaurant.
An insightful presentation detailing the importance of Apprenticeships and upskilling to local industry was also given by Managing Director of Arthur Padgett Plumbing and Heating Engineers, Edward Padgett.

Top employers were also given their due praise at the prestigious annual event, and this year Lancashire County Council was awarded the Employer of the Year 2017 award by 2016’s Employer of the Year Martin Shackleton, vocational skills co-ordinator from the Lancashire Care Foundation Trust.
Interim Principal Lynda Mason said:
“The Accrington and Rossendale College Apprenticeship Awards give us and the wider local community the opportunity to see just how much our Apprentices are achieving on their programmes, and to reward them for their success. Apprentices are vital to business growth and we’re extremely proud of each of our Apprentices for becoming vital members of their workforce wherever they are employed. Congratulations to each of them.”
