Lancashire chartered accountants and business advisers Cassons are gearing up for growth in 2015 by adding two new recruits to their growing team.

Simon Read strengthens the accountancy department as an Audit and Accounts Senior, whilst Victoria Frost joins the tax team as a Mixed Tax Senior.

Simon joins Cassons from Baker Tilly, where he oversaw an audit portfolio of education and academy clients. A graduate in Economics and Finance from Manchester University, Simon will strengthen Cassons audit and accounts team.

Taking up his post shortly before Christmas, Simon says his first day with the firm wasn’t the usual experience: “My first day at Cassons actually coincided with the filming of the firm’s Christmas video, which was a bit different! There’s a really strong, community feel to the office and I’m looking forward to advancing my career with Cassons.

Bringing with her 10 years’ experience in business, tax, accounts and auditing, Victoria joins Cassons from Manchester based White and Company, where she acted as an Accounts and Audits Senior. Victoria will assist in the tax department and work closely with Senior Tax Manager Helen Cowley in an advisory role. “Tax just comes naturally to me,” says Victoria. “I’m looking forward to working with the Cassons team. There’s a great sense of team spirit and cooperation which really makes you strive to be the best you can be.”

Les Nutter Managing Partner of Cassons said: “We’re delighted to welcoming Simon and Victoria to our accounts and tax departments. Their knowledge and experience in their respective fields will help to make a strong and positive contribution to our team of business advisers as Cassons continues to grow and develop in 2015.”
