Once again Rossendale Hospice is on the hunt for an outstanding individual to be awarded the title Rossendale Woman of the Year 2015. Rossendale Hospice is delighted to announce the launch of Rossendale Woman of the Year 2015 and is calling for the community to nominate someone who they feel is an inspirational member of the community for the award.

For over a decade the hospice has recognised and celebrated the achievements of remarkable women from the area at their annual award ceremony and fundraiser luncheon, which will be held on 17th April at the Red Hall Hotel.

Last year’s very deserving winner was Louise Cooper, who helped set up “Kids in Rossendale” a new local charity that endeavours to support disadvantaged children in the Rossendale area. She has been involved in Scouting for 25+ years and also supports a network group for 18-25 year olds. Louise organises the fundraising so the Cubs can travel to France to experience an activity holiday they may not ordinarily afford.

Community Fundraising Manager Sam Morris explains: “We often talk about how amazing and inspiring some people are but rarely do anything about it. This award gives the people of Rossendale an opportunity to recognize and support those amazing women who have made a significant contribution to our community.

“Now is the time for the people of Rossendale to nominate who they think deserves to win Woman of the Year 2015. We’re looking for someone who continually strives to help others or has achieved something extraordinary despite the odds. Maybe you know someone who works tirelessly for the benefit of local charities or is simply a valued and wonderful member of your community who goes that extra mile to help others.

This award gives them the chance to receive the recognition they so richly deserve.

So come on Rossendale, get those nominations coming in.”

Nomination forms are available from the Hospice shops :- Bank Street, Rawtenstall, Deardengate, Haslingden and St James Square, Bacup or on our Facebook page and website www.rossendalehospice.org.
