CROW Wood Managing Director Andrew Brown, has this week announced that the annual charity ball held in Bertram’s Restaurant raised £11,869 Mr. Brown hailed the amount raised as fantastic and said that the money raised would benefit Pendleside Hospice and The Prince’s Trust – which has an office in Burnley.

The event was attended by 170 people, who enjoyed cocktails followed by a spectacular four course meal, by acclaimed head chef Spencer Burge.

A charity auction followed that included items contributed by Lloyds BMW, Burnley Football Club and Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson.

“I would like to thank all the attendees of our annual charity ball – it was a superb evening and people showed amazing generosity in helping us raise £11,869 for two very worthwhile causes,” said Andrew.

“Our friends from Lloyds BMW contributed a weekend hire of a BMW Z4 and Burnley Football Club contributed a signed and framed shirt – a reproduction of the 1914 FA Cup winning shirt added Mr. Brown.

“Andrew Stephenson MP deserves special thanks. He offered a House of Commons tour and dinner, raising £1000, apparently the most he has ever got for this at auction. Two other people expressed interest on the night and Andrew has very kindly offered to do these as well, raising an additional £1000 each.”

Christina Cope, fundraising manager at Pendleside Hospice, said: “The annual charity ball at Bertram’s Restaurant has become a key event in the local social calendar, so we’re delighted that the money raised will support Pendleside Hospice and the Prince’s Trust. The event has broken last year’s record when they raised £7,576, so we’re very grateful to Andrew and all the team at Bertram’s Restaurant, as well as the businesses that contributed prizes, as well as all the attendees.”
