After enduring over thirteen straight hours of scorching hot weather, blistered feet and sunburnt skin, Denwa are incredibly pleased to announce that their 2014 Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge was a monumental success that truly surpassed all expectation.

Organised in order to help raise funds for North West Blood Bikes Lancs & Lakes, all participants taking part in the 24.5 mile trek through the Yorkshire National Park showed great strength and team spirit as they willed each other on from the 7.45am start right through to the 9.30pm finish 13 hours and 45mins later.

As temperatures soared up to around 24 degrees, completing the challenge was no easy task and many of those involved actually found themselves rather envious of Denwa MD, Rob Scott, who had agreed to do the entire walk in his underpants if donations reached £1000.

Thanks to a massive response from the friends and family of those taking part in the event, along with a series of generous donations from Thorne Access & Security, Panaz, KPMG, David J Miller, Haworths Accountants, Marbill Developments, David Roberts, Xarios, Short CGI, Trust Distribution and BBC Superfactors, Rob’s £1000 target was not only smashed but doubled in number!

Commenting on the walk, event organiser and Denwa Web Developer, Dan Moore, stated: “Massive congratulations to everyone who took part in the walk. Nobody expected that kind of heat and I’m just really proud that we all managed to make it through to the end without melting.

“Also, a big shout out to everyone who was kind enough to sponsor us on the day or make donations to the North West Blood Bikes Lancs & Lakes charity. You guys made it all worth it and your money will really help make a difference in people’s lives! Thank you”

Denwa Managing Director, Rob Scott, added: “Really pleased with the outcome of this event. If I’d have known that walking around the countryside in my underpants would encourage such generosity and willingness to help others I’d have started doing it a long time ago!

“On a serious note, huge thanks to all who took part on the day and to everyone who found it within themselves to make a donation to thins incredibly noble and worthy cause.”
