A NEW strategy has been outlined by a council for approval from council executives.
Burnley Council chiefs will discuss the ‘Making it in Burnley’ aspiration strategy at tonight’s executive board meeting.
The strategy, which puts forward a number of proposal for future investment in youth services, comes following the council’s long standing commitment to help raise aspiration and attainment.
Close to £20,000 from the council’s reserves could be used to help fund the growth of the children’s university Burnley campus, if approved by the executive board.
Councillors will also decide whether there should be an increase in the council’s draft revenue budget for 2018/19, which will include an increase to meet an anticipated shortfall in external funding for the children’s partnership co-ordinator post. It will take place at Burnley Town Hall tomorrow from 6.30pm.
