ROSSENDALE MP Jake Berry has taken up concerns about Edenfield roundabout after being contacted by concerned local parents.
The safety barrier, which separates pedestrians from cars travelling around the roundabout at the end of village bypass, has only recently been repaired following a crash.
Now another accident has left the metal fencing damaged again.
Parents and other local residents have contacted Mr Berry with concerns that, without a barrier, a pedestrian may be hit and cars that crash may end up falling onto the M66 below.
They are particularly concerned about children on their way to and from school.
The MP has taken up the issue with Rossendale Borough Council and contacted its highways department.
Mr Berry said: “This path is used by a lot of pedestrians, including children on their way to school, so I’m very concerned that it has been left in this state.
“I have asked the council to repair this damage as a matter of urgency.”
