A PENSIONER had sentimental jewellery belonging to his late wife stolen from his house while he was sitting in his garden.
The 72-year-old was outside his house in Birtwistle Avenue, Colne, when the incident happened between 5pm and 6pm on Monday June 23.
The victim went back inside just after 6pm and discovered that jewellery and watches had been stolen.
PC Lee Forshaw said: “This is a despicable offence against an elderly man who was simply tending to his garden.
“I would appeal to anybody that has any information about this burglary that could assist police with our investigation to contact us on 101.”
