AN MP has thanked a Haslingden military charity for the work the group’s volunteers do in the community.
Graham Jones, MP for Haslingden, praised Veterans in Communities following the organisation’s launch day at the Mary Hindle Centre in Bury Road.
He said: “Following our successful campaign to regain the building from Agapao International, it is fantastic to see what Veterans in the Communities have done with the building since November 2013 and what an effect they have had on local veterans.
“In addition, there were volunteers and local former armed services personnel who use the centre and who volunteer their time in order to make the centre a success. I would like to take this opportunity to thank VIC and all the volunteers who have made the project possible and who have ensured that the building remains a community asset for the people of Haslingden.”
