Lawson postpone Burnley gig after frontman falls ill
ONE of Burnley’s biggest-ever live gigs has been postponed after Lawson frontman Andy Brown fell ill.
Brown has been ordered by doctors to rest, according to promoters, forcing the cancellation of tomorrow’s date at the UCLan campus in Princess Way.
But the band’s management has pledged that the four-piece will be heading to East Lancashire for a rearranged appearance on June 7.
The Liverpool-born vocalist is responsible for the pop-rockers moniker - a Dr Lawson was the surgeon who removed a brain tumour when he was aged just 19.
A band spokesman said: “It's with regret that Lawson have to postpone their show in Burnley on Sunday due to illness. Frontman Andy Brown has been told to rest under doctors orders.
“It is the first time in the five years that Lawson have been together that they've had to cancel a show and the band are incredibly disappointed however with Andy's medical history, advice from experts is never taken lightly.”
And the singer added: “I’m really sorry to have to postpone the show. I’m really unwell but hopefully will be ready soon!”
All tickets for the Sunday show will remain valid for the June concert, it has been confirmed.
