Justin, who is the head of corporate fundraising at the NSPCC, said: “I am a keen walker and I used to swim a lot but I needed a challenge to look forward to and to help gain a bit of fitness back.

“To raise money for this event, I have pestered my friends and family relentlessly .

“I and am hoping my efforts will pay off in helping raise lots of sponsorship.”

Justin’s colleagues will be joining him in the event, on Saturday, April 26.

The event will start at the crack of dawn, and begins with a 25-mile route of off-road mountain biking around Derwentwater. The team will then trek up and back down Haystacks, a route cov ering approximately six miles, and finish by canoeing for two to three miles on Derwentwater – all before sunset.

Justin is one of 80 people expected to take part in Chasing the Sun for the NSPCC, and the charity hopes the event will raise £15,000 in sponsorship for its services for children and young people.
