THIEVES raided a Bacup nursery and stole £5,000 in cash and a laptop last night.

The offenders kicked in a panel of the UPVC front door at Blossoms Private Day Nursery and snatched a safe, a petty cash box and the Toshiba computer and damaged several doors inside.

The offenders stole the CCTV recording box for the premises in Vale Street, though police are looking at footage from cameras in the surrounding area.

Anyone with information on the incident, which happened at 10.10pm, should call police on 101.

£5,000 is a lot of money to keep in a nursery. Surely a bank would have been safer.

Totally agree £5,000 is a lot to have on premises overnight.
Makes you wonder the thief or theives must of known about the money, or it is a absolute coincidence don't think so. !!

Anyway on a completely different note , with no aspersions being made, has anyone seen the film the insiders before ?
Ohh and before I go could anyone recommend a good insurance company to use ?

I wouldn't leave £100 at a works premises, never mind £5000. Something very fishy here.

If people haven got anything supportive to say they should not say anything at all!! The money stolen had recently been collected for charity.

All the more reason to take it and put it in the bank or even take it home with you. If I had £5000, especially if it wasn't mine, I would keep it in my sight and on my person day and night until I went to the bank.

Yes well the plot thickens now, and it takes a different twist.

Again has anyone seen that film the insiders, I think it's called.
