STRICTLY Come Dancing star, Natalie Gumede, will hit the floor to perform not one but two dances in tonight’s semi-final.
The Colne actress, famed for playing Kirsty Soames in Coronation Street, will dance an Argentine Tango to ‘Montserrat’ by Bajofondo before getting back on the dancefloor for a Salsa to Michael Jackson’s ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Something’.
After receiving some negative comments about her chemistry with her professional partner, Artem Chigvintsev last week, Natalie, writing on her exclusive Yahoo Blog, said: “Both are perfect dances to address the judges comments...all about chemistry and connection.”
She went on to say that training for two completely different speciality dances had proved difficult this week.
She said: “Both styles are different in technique to ballroom and Latin so everything I've learned since September has to be thrown out of the window...This would be a challenge if it was the case for just one of the two dances, but with both? It's insanity!”
Natalie, who has been the bookies favourite to win the competition throughout, has been replaced in the predicted top spot by BBC presenter Susanna Reid, according to bookmaker William Hill.
Natalie is now second favourite at 5/2, with Patrick Robinson predicted to be the next star to leave the show.
