Bob the Builder to star at Burnley Christmas lights switch-on
4:31pm Thursday 15th November 2012 in News
FINAL preparations are being put in place for the Burnley Christmas Lights Switch-On event on Sunday, November 18.
Children’s TV favourite Bob the Builder will be the main attraction at the event, which will feature entertainment from 12pm until around 5.30pm, with street entertainers and fairground rides.
There will be a range of performances from Burnley Alliance Silver Band, Burnley Youth Theatre and others throughout the day.
Coun Andrew Tatchell, executive member for regeneration and economic development, said: “At this time of year, nothing highlights more the importance of town centre as a key focal point for the community than switching on the Christmas lights.
“What better way could there be to celebrate this than showcasing the wealth of home grown talent.
“We want this year switch-on to be really special and with the range of entertainment planned for the day, it should be a great way to mark the start the Christmas celebrations.”
