County will subsidise Burnley-Pendle bus service

Lancashire County Council will subsidise an evening bus service between Higherford, Nelson, Burnley and Worsthorne.

County hall bosses have agreed to spend nearly £10,000 on providing two extra services on the Number Two route.

Transdev Burnley and Pendle had reduced its evening service from 7.30pm to 5.30pm on that route.

But now the county council will provide an hourly service until 7.30pm, when it takes over running the service anyway.

Tim Gornall, of Lancashire County Council, said: “The proposal for this service is to provide replacement journeys on Monday to Saturday early evening to maintain an hourly service between approximately 5.30pm and 7.30pm.@
