BURNLEY and Padiham Police were out in the town to check for divers speeding.
Officers were out using speed guns to look out for speeding drivers, drivers using their phones and those not wearing their seatbelt on Colne Road, Burnley,
Cllr Mohammed Ishtiaq, who represents the area said: "I fully support this police initiative.
"Colne Road is a very busy road and there have been incidents on the road involving driver collisions.
"It's good to see the police are taking action to catch the culprits who are speeding because it will stop any serious injuries occurring or people getting hurt."
Cllr Sue Graham, who also represents the area, said: "The ward councillors get quite a lot of complaints about speeding going on a long that road.
"Unfortunately I think the police action is only during the day.
"A lot of problems occur in the late evenings.
"There have been some accidents a long there and anything that stops more speeding would a good thing."
