A FUNDRAISING bid in aid of a seriously-ill Padiham girl has reached one of the highest offices in the land.

A Jet Set Angel, which raises money for seven-year-old Tia Taggart who suffers from Ewing’s sarcoma, has been presented to foreign secretary Boris Johnson by Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson.

Her teachers and fellow pupils at St John The Baptist RC Primary School came up with the idea to produce small decorative angels and sell them for £1 each.

Mr Stephenson said: “He was very impressed to hear about the world travels of many of the angels from as far away as Hawaii to New Zealand.”

The money raises money for Tia and her family, mum and dad Lee and Gillian and sister Tegan with travel costs to Manchester Children’s Hospital for treatment.

So far more than £2,000 has been raised.
