A WOMAN will receive a BEM (Medallist of the Order of the British Empire) at a prestigious honours ceremony.
Kathryn Heyworth, from Burnley, will receive the honour for services to the community in Burnley.
The BEM rewards an achievement or contribution of a very 'hands-on' service to the community in a local geographical area.
The investiture will be attended by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, The Lord Shuttleworth KG KCVO, who will be making the presentations, which were announced in The Queen's New Year Honours List.
Lord Shuttleworth said: "Once more, I am honoured to be presenting British Empire Medals on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen to residents of Lancashire. It is a privilege to make these presentations and to meet the recipients."
County Hall in Preston will host the prestigious honours ceremony on Friday, April 13.
