A BURNLEY care centre has been told to make improvements after an inspection by a health watchdog.

Bank Hall Care Centre, which provides care for up to 56 older people, some with dementia, was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

At a previous inspection, the Colne Road centre came up with an action plan after being rated ‘requires improvement’ because of issues around risks to people’s wellbeing, safety and security.

Inspectors found sufficient improvements had been made, however the service was still not always safe, effective and well-led.

It was found to be ‘good’ under responsive and caring categories.

Inspectors said medicine management practices needed improvement as well as the monitoring of staffing levels to ensure enough staff were available.

In a report A CQC inspector said: “People had mixed views on the quality and variety of the meals provided.

“There were processes in place to regularly monitor the quality of people’s experience.

"However we found the some of the checking systems could be better."
