HUNDREDS of excited football fans gathered at Burnley’s Game store to meet their real-life heroes and grab a copy of the latest edition of FIFA.

Schoolchildren, teenagers and adults queued up outside the store in St James’ Street from 2pm yesterday for a chance to meet Clarets players Danny Lafferty, Kevin Long, Scott Arfield and Ashley Barnes.

The players signed copies of the latest edition of the game, FIFA 16, and had photos with the fans.

Store manager Jon Bee said he was very happy with the turnout.

He said: “It was quieter in the morning after the launch of the game the night before but once the players were due to arrive it quickly built up.

“It was great to see the school kids run out telling their friends they’d just had their photo taken with the players.

“I’m pleased with the players. They were due to leave around 3.30pm but stayed for a bit longer to make sure everyone got a picture with them.

“This is the second year in a row we’ve had Burnley players come to the store and we are very happy they came back.”
