POLICE are trying to trace a man from Burnley who has been wanted since November 2014.

Rumel Miah (also known as Mahmud Ali), 24, whose last known address was Belford Street in Burnley, is wanted for recall to prison.

He was sentenced to four years in prison in February 2012 for class A drugs supply and was released in February 2014 on licence, but has since been charged for an assault on a man in Burnley. Miah is known to frequent Burnley and also has links to Rochdale.

He is described as Asian, around 5ft 7ins tall, of a stocky build with short black hair and brown eyes.

PC Kazim Garda of Burnley Police urged anyone with information to get in touch with themselves or Crimestoppers anonymously.

He said: “We are determined to find Miah and I would urge anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to get in touch with us, or if he sees this appeal himself, please contact us as soon as possible.

“We would advise members of the public not to approach him but to contact police if they see him.”
